Best and Ultimate Guide To Modified Car Insurance

Car modification is an area I have dabbled in myself and I must confess to finding great enjoyment in it. There will always be those who see anyone who modifies their car as a “Boy” or “Girl” racer. Of course, this may be the case for some, but others spend a huge amount of time and money on their beloved cars. The last thing on their mind would be driving dangerously and jeopardising the safety of their most precious item.

The modifying of your car can provide a welcomed focus and is certainly very enjoyable. There are many hobbies that appear superficially to follow a similar theme. Modifying a Pc and adding the latest parts, such as a new processor to increase performance is very similar to adding a new component to a car to increase speed and performance. Indeed, it can be said that to many of us, most things in life can come down to speed or performance in one way or another.

The topic that will never be far from this one is that of modified or performance car insurance. Of course if you modify and improve the performance of your car you will pay a higher premium price. Nevertheless, for some of us it can be a struggle to find a car insurance company even willing to insure a modified or performance car in the first place. Then you will have to consider paying an extortionate amount to cover your car, leaving most us a nervous wreck.

The problem lies mainly in the engine modification department. Changes to exterior fittings such as tailgate spoilers, new alloy wheels and body kit will make a noticeable difference in your premium, but at least this is an area most insurance companies are willing to cover. When it comes to engine modifications and cars with extremely powerful engines, a lot of them will not even enter into giving you a quote.

If you have added only exterior items or changed the in-car entertainment system then you can pretty much go ahead and search through quotes in the usual manner. You must remember to ring the car insurance company you have chosen after selecting the best quote for your car as standard. I would suggest picking several of the better value for money quotes, ensuring they give you the coverage your looking for (remember cheapest is not always best) and then ringing the company to continue the quote and give details of your modification. You should find most companies are pretty modification friendly as long as there only minor changes.

If you have modified you engine by way of a chip, induction kit or similar then things start to get a little trickier. This is also the case with having a generally high-powered performance engine. Many mainstream insurers will not insure a car with engine modifications or a high-powered car with a young driver. Here you will be best to follow the same procedure as above and seek quotes from specialist insurers. You may find the process a little slower but you will be rewarded with a more tailored and possibly cheaper policy.

Above all, you must remember to be honest to your insurer. Something as small as misinforming the insurer as to where you car will be kept overnight can be seen as fraud. Altering details to give yourself a cheaper policy, if not accurate, will ultimately result in voided insurance when the issuing company finds out.

Nice VW Modification With Golden Yellow Color Carving Techniques

Nice VW Modification

The effect that the classic Volkswagen has had on Americans as well as many people worldwide is exceptional. Few other car models can match the status of the car in terms of its support among ordinary people. The Volkswagen is known as “people’s car” in German. Despite the many atrocities committed by Adolf Hitler, people all over the world should give him credit for making the production of Volkswagen possible. In the early 1930s, many German citizens were not able to afford buying cars let alone meeting their basic needs. Most vehicles were too expensive and were considered as luxuries.

Adolf Hitler wanted to be popular with the people of Germany and so intended to make a car that would be affordable to most Germans. Hitler’s decision to have the car made was not based purely on innovation principles. Instead, he wanted to establish himself as a political leader by gaining support from majority of Germans, mostly who could not afford to buy the expensive car models. To achieve this, in 1933, Hitler turned to an engineer, Ferdinand Porsche who was known for his vast experience and skills in engineering. Hitler summoned Porsche and ordered him to make a car that could be made available to ordinary citizens.

Hitler gave Porsche guidelines on what the car should look like. Some of those guidelines included the capacity of the vehicle. It had to be able to accommodate four people as well as have an engine that would be able to last long. The proposed car was also to be small and air-cooled and be available to the people at a low price. Initially, the cost of the proposed vehicle made Porsche reluctant to proceed with plans for making the car. However, because of constant pressure from Hitler, Porsche began the process of developing the soon to be Volkswagen.

Soon afterwards, Porsche was given resources needed for the production of the car by Hitler. Even though he was still reluctant, he went ahead with the plans of producing the first prototypes of the Volkswagen. Not known to many, Porsche had previously produced another car model that had similar features as the car Hitler wanted. However, the car was not mass-produced. Porsche visited America where he learnt about the techniques used for mass production of cars, at low production costs. He then returned to Germany and begun working on the prototype of the Volkswagen, based on previous model he had designed.

It took three years from the time Hitler approached Porsche, to the time the first prototypes of the Volkswagen were produced. After a series of road tests, the car was ready to be mass-produced and many people bought these cars. After the Second World War, the British took control of the factories and appointed an engineer who did modifications to the Volkswagen. The British enabled the car to be mass-produced and sold not only to Germans but also to the rest of Europe and eventually to the rest of the world. Ever since then, Volkswagen has been made available to millions of people worldwide and is considered as a classic car.

2011 Hennessey Venom GT

It’s alive! The first salable example of Hennessey’s ballyhooed Venom GT has been built, photographed, and soon will be delivered. Sadly, Venom GT #01 is not being delivered to us. No, the car is heading to its new home somewhere within—where else?—the United Arab Emirates, where the sun is hot, the roads are straight, and gasoline is cheap and abundant. (Sort of sounds like Texas, Hennessey’s home state, now that we think about it.)

But before the car got away, Hennessey snapped some slick photos that give the best look yet at the radically proportioned supercar. Hennessey also took this occasion to provide additional specs over what we reported when the company provided its first round of Venom GT images and information back in March.

2011 Revenge Verde

The Ford GT will have its revenge. Well, Revenge will have the Ford GT. What you’re looking at is a new supercar based on the bones of an old one. Underneath the bright-green paint and carbon-fiber bodywork, the Revenge Verde that debuted at the Detroit auto show is essentially a Ford GT. But in place of the GT’s 500-hp, 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 will beat a choice of three V-8 powertrains: a 605-hp Ford crate engine, a 638-hp GM LS9, or a “hybrid V-8” provided by HP2g. (More on that last one in a minute.) Transmissions will include a standard manual or a six-speed sequential box.

Malaysia International Automotive Parts & Accessories Expo

It has been a busy week, but do not worry that I will neglect this blog. I enjoy writing here and I am sure you enjoy reading some of my posts too. No matter how busy, I will still update here. Let’s check out where did I go last week… yes, no other place was better than the Malaysia International Automotive Parts & Accessories Expo or in short Auto ASEAN 2008.

The expo was held in Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil and on the last day before it was concluded I managed to sneak in with a RM5 entrance ticket.

Honda Racing car

So, obviously there were tonnes of cars on display and on sale. I know the above Honda Racing car photo doesn’t look very promising… I think I am slightly better at shooting models – pretty girls, I mean… and sucks at shooting anything else. :)

No place to bounce my flash from and the result of direct flash is pretty obvious. The front of the car is overly exposed, although I tilted the speedlite some 35 degree upwards.

Good year racing

Anyway, although it was the last day of a four days expo, there wasn’t a lot of people… perhaps most of the crowd was somewhere in the town at the Merdeka parade or something like that. Or maybe it was because of the RM5 entrance fee which deterred people from coming.

It’s a good thing there wasn’t too many people. We could have all the time in the world to snap as many pictures we want without being pushed away. :)

Hypertune

Oh yes, Hypertune was there too! If you are uninformed, Hypertune is Malaysia’s top selling car magazine, especially popular for there car tuning tips and tricks.

Now, don’t look at the cars only, what about Hypertune babes!? Here you are…

Hypertune babes

OK, this is just a sneak peek of what you can expect to see next… I just can’t refrain from posting this photo up although what I really want to show you today are car pictures only. Haha…

Sport car

There were many cars, cars and cars and more cars to see and touch here… in various shapes, colors and sizes. :) I admit I do not know much about cars except how to drive one, but this particular car really caught my attention, and many others visitors. In fact its ICE (in car entertainment system) decibels could be heard miles away!

Car stereo system

The whole trunk or boot was packed with huge loud speakers, amplifiers, and all sorts of accessories which I do not know the name of. On top of that it was equipped with not less than three monitors… yes, you heard me right, three monitors but they were facing weird directions… Let me show you one below.

Car monitor

Why the heck was the monitor facing to the front of the car? Haha… weird orientation but it was a pleasure checking it out. Anyway, if you thought that’s the end of it, then you are wrong. There is another small monitor which was probably not meant for passenger’s viewing.

Stereo car

See, a small monitor in the trunk of the car.

Designer Car Interiors

Designer Car Interiors

Why choose to use a seat cover? Designer seat covers are available from various suppliers, they all have significant modifications in fit, construction, style and price

Caring for your car seats by using a cover is probably the most overlooked aspect of maintaining your cars appearance, not to mention the value.

Most of us will simply run the hoover over the interior once a month if that, and before long the wear and tear will undoubtedly begin to show. This will rapidly devalue the vehicles worth.

Applying seat covers will keep your seats in mint condition, saving them from unnecessary accidental damage and long term wear.

Auto Modification Design | Cars Body Kit Modification

Cars Body Kit Modification

Car body kits for primary purposes are used as cosmetic tools for your car, yet they have a potential of implicating a radical change in the appearance of the car. However applying just a body kit and assuming that car modification job has been performed very well is a misconception many armature car modifiers bear. One should always choose a body kit best aligning with the lines of your car.One should always choose a body kit best aligning with the lines of their cars. Kits requiring spray and paint should be properly sprayed or one should be prepared to spend extra bucks once the kit starts to peel off.

One problem faced during a car modification or installing a new body kit is that the colors seldom match with whole car and it is very difficult to find or maintain the right color combination for the car. However good opportunity arises when fitting a new kit, to respray the whole car so to have a suitable color combination.

Some tips regarding front bumper and grill seems to be appropriate here. New bumpers especially the front one lack the physical strength as compared to the standard one so provide less protection against any crash. Similarly new grills, one finds it usually to be very difficult to install when the remaining body kits has been already applied. So when installing grills and vents a person should be very conscious of the order with which he is going to install the body kit or a lot of time will be wasted in fitting and unfitting the kit.

Off the shelf body kits may look attractive in their packing but they rarely compliment the car and most of the time they fail to enhance the look of the car. So the best way is to get your car a new custom body kit from any specialist body shop. But remember when you have opted for yourself to become a car modifier then don't be a miser in spending some extra money on good quality body kits. This hobby sure requires some high investments. Going for cheap, low quality kits would simply mean that you are wasting your money and time. Don't ever be reluctant in spending some money on good ones as well fitted body kits can prove to be real investments which is definitely going to pay off in future in the form of sponsorship contracts and air time at local TV programs.

A good way to ensure that all the parts are fitted in their required order is to read the instruction manual carefully on the packing of the body kits and make sure all the parts provided in the list are present. Just lay down all the parts around the car and hold them against body work in order to make sure for the best fit.

When cutting holes for the exhaust, ensure that you always strive for 1-2cm wider than what actually is required so that you don't have to face any irritation just in case you commit a mistake in measuring the required diameter of the hole. However to measure the hole's diameter, use cardboard template for best results.
